Paris, France
As many of you know, I arrived in Paris on Friday, November 13th, the night of the terrorist attacks. Fortunately, for our safety, we were traveling from the airport to our apartment (an hour and fifteen minutes from the airport to Paris and then about half an hour by metro and by foot) when the attacks occurred (see the timeline and where we were outlined by the maps at the bottom of the page). Due to the heightened security as a result of the attacks, we were not able to see everything we had hoped we could, but we were able to witness the emotions and support that was evoked in grievance for those lost. The photographs I captured of the memorials, the moments of remembrance and prayer, and even of the military and police presence throughout the city are some of the most meaningful photographs that I have ever taken.
Beauvais Airport - we left the airport at about 10:30 pm
Les Lilas - we arrived at the apartment just outside Paris at about 12:15 am
|
Porte Maillot Station - we hopped on the metro here around 11:45 pm
The Bataclan Concert Hall - raided by French police a little before 12:30 am
