The Ireland Collection
In the Fall of 2015, I spent my first semester of Junior year at the University College of Dublin through a study abroad program. While I was there I fell in love with the expanse of cultures that I was able to my surround myself with in Europe; the different languages around every other corner, the ease of experiencing vastly different cultures by way of a 1-2 hour flight. I spent most of that semester.. outside of studying, of course... using Dublin as a hub to explore 14 other countries around the continent. This experience thoroughly "infected" me with the "travel bug" and when my semester was done I was only itching to go back (see my Europe Collection).
Through the Work Holiday Authorization program I was able to move to Ireland where I was able to live and work for "a year" (legally speaking). In my time there I spent my first few weeks re-exploring the streets of Dublin, a month on a family sheep farm out on the tip of a whale's tale peninsula in County Kerry, my summer in Galway, a month in the surf capital of Ireland, and then my remaining months helping run a surf hostel & lodge in the coastal County Sligo town of Strandhill. Through all of my ups, downs, snoring hostel roommates, and surf sessions under rainbow skies, Ireland easily wove its way deep into my heart. I always love the chance to look through these images and remember the friends and adventures that lead to each shot.
